A few years back, I was honored to stay with my Mother during her final days. When I had some down time while my sisters tended Mom, I set out to organize and digitize the large collection of family photos that Mom had stored in an old trunk.
Since I am from a large family, I wanted to find a way for all family members to have access to the old family photos. I turned to my existing Shutterfly account and created a “Share Site” for my family. There are many other sites that probably have similar options.
I uploaded and organized in folders for major periods of our family history; e.g. life on the farm; life in town; each reunion by year, etc. You can add a title and description to the photos. For some of the older photos, it has been a family project to identify some of the members.
I encourage you to look around for options that are suitable for you and your family to share your family history.
